This is a safety awareness day young people from our affiliated projects will be invited along to take part in workshops that will be based on safety awareness.
We will invite police, fire and ambulance service, Gas board, Transport Police and other agencies related to community safety to inform the young people about safety issues.
We hope to raise awareness by setting up simulations of accidents, hazardous situations and seeing how the young people react.
They will be asked to explain how they felt and why they reacted in a certain way.
The young people will then be informed of the best ways to deal with situations.
Aim
- To raise awareness in young people about safety issues that arise in everyday activities.
Objectives
- To increase young people’s ability to reduce accidents
- To increase young people’s ability to deal with emergency situations in a mature way
- To provide opportunity for young people to come together with young people out with their area to build and develop relationships.
- To increase knowledge and understanding of emergency services, staff and procedures.
