A long running programme where we hire fashion workshop co-ordinators to go round the projects and help the young people to design outfits/accessories     
The event will finish with all the groups coming together to take part in a fashion show.

Aim:

  • To give young people the opportunity to develop and explore new skills related to fashion and the fashion industry, raising awareness about environmental impact and global “sweatshops”.

 
Objectives:

  • To allow young people the opportunity to develop new skills
  • To increase social skills and development of relationships of young people
  • To raise awareness
  • To encourage young people to develop new interests and be creative
  • To promote Strathclyde Youth
  • To promote fair-trade and other global human rights organisations  

How does it work?

Project will start 1st March. Giving 38 weeks or 30 weeks if take holidays into consideration.

5 dress categories giving them 6 weeks for each categories.

5 Categories are:    

  • Scottish
  • Fash and Trash      
  • Glamour       
  • Bizarre        
  • Accessories

At the start of each unit the clubs will be given a design brief and they get 6 weeks to complete each unit.

At the end all groups come together to produce a fashion show.
